Australian printer modernizes existing press with manroland Goss web systems

Upgrades and retrofits from manroland Goss web systems increase production efficiency, quality and the availability of the press. The newspaper printer News Corp Australia also knows about it. At their printing site in Yandina, they have now opted for an upgrade with a gluing system from Planatol, a retrofit for the production of additional formats and an e-retrofit of the controls of the existing UNISET and REGIOMAN presses. Goss and manroland web systems Intend to Combine

Goss International’s printing press business (“Goss”) and manroland web systems, both manufacturers and service providers of web offset printing systems for newspapers, commercial products and packaging, are planning to combine their complementary businesses. The combined company will benefit from the companies’ complementary geographic footprints, create extensive synergies, ensure long-term viability, and provide value-oriented solutions, especially in the area of aftermarket services. People’s Daily Chooses Goss to Manage Latest Press Move

December 19, 2017 – People’s Daily, the largest newspaper group in China, has completed a major press relocation of its Goss Universal 75 press to a new, state-of-the-art printing facility in Beijing. Goss were selected by People’s Daily as the original manufacturer of the Universal 75 press model to project manage the entire job, which took twelve weeks to complete. Goss engineers project managed and supervised the relocation of the six-tower Universal 75 and worked together with People’s Daily employees and local teams to provide the most cost-effective solution for the company. Goss Receives Order for M130 Press Upgrade at Catamount Color

DURHAM, N.H. November 15, 2017 – Goss has received an order for an M130 press upgrade at Catamount Color with the goal of improving efficiency, reducing waste and enhancing color consistency. The upgrade on the M130 sixteen-page web press system will include an ink fountain upgrade which consists of the more responsive one-piece ink key motors and potentiometers which are less costly and easier to replace than previous generation ink keys. TC Transcontinental – RBW Graphics Invests in M-3000 Upgrades to Ensure Longevity

DURHAM, N.H. November 10, 2017 – TC Transcontinental – RBW Graphics, Canada’s largest printer with operations in print, flexible packaging, and publishing, recently completed a suite of upgrades to a Goss M-3000 press installed at their RBW Graphics Facility in Owen Sound, ON. The project consisted of a drives and controls system upgrade, an Omni Make-Ready bundle and ink fountain rebuilds. The drives and controls upgrade involved replacing existing consoles with new Omnicon™ and Omnicolor™ consoles, new Siemens PLC CPU hardware, controllers and drives. Cummings Printing Selects Goss to Upgrade Toshiba Drive and Controls

DURHAM, N.H. November 13, 2017 – Cummings Printing Company has selected Goss International and Graphic Automation and Controls (GAC) to upgrade the press drive and controls on their Toshiba web press system. The system is configured with five sixteen page units, two combination folders and a sheeter. Graphic Automation will be removing and replacing the existing Toshiba PLC’s, Operator Screens and drive system. Rotocobrhi Purchases Goss Sunday 5000 for Increased Page Count Capability

November 13, 2017 – Rotocobrhi, a web offset printer part of the Walstead Group, has added a Goss 96-page Sunday 5000 web offset press to their existing installed base in Madrid, Spain. The Goss Sunday 5000 96-page press will be configured with a PCF3 combination folder and an additional short grain folder, replacing two existing 48-page press. The Goss press will be used to expand Rotocobrhi’s current magazine, retail and catalogue production capabilities to increase page capacity in these markets.
